Indonesia how to get for free into the green canyon and some travel impressions

As we arrived in Jakarta we rented a scooter and moved after some short insight of Jakarta the next day with train to Bandung.

Here We can really recommend phostel. Nice stuff and a very nice room for a fair price. 15 Euros for two persons and inclusive breakfast . The quality was like an European hotel room. The value was for the price perfect, normally we take cheaper rooms but this was it worth. Normally you get a nice room for 100 000 rp it's ca 6.30. So most travel books write to high prices. Wouldn't mostly recommand to check on your own, especially if you are going to tourist district with high prices at the Internet. You can bargain directly at the place it will.be cheaper than in the Internet and much places are not listed online.

We went by bus to pangandaran. We took over 10 hours. I think the train would be the better option, 4 hours to banjaran and than a bus 1 and half hour.

We got into the Panorama hostel but I wouldn't recommend. The hostel looks nice but the rooms are not so comfortable. And it was so loud, that we felt like at a race track. It was directly at the street. The stuff was also not so nice, promised us a scooter but didn't gave us.

So we took at another place one. And drove to the green canion. We didn't wanted to pay so much, so we tried to do it on our own. It is easier than the people think. You hast have to drive straight on than the road change into a stone forest way crosses some houses and farmers. After it getting up you turn left and after some point it gets down and you arrive a Plattform where you have to walk down. You should ask someone. Before you turn left.

Now you reached the base there the boats stop on the way back. Follow the way the right till it stops.

Now you have to swim. If you are a normal swimmer you should handle it but take care of the small motorboats It's like 10 minutes swimming and you arrive the point where no boat is possible to go further. Now it's no problem. Here are all the other tourists. Now you can swim through the green Canyon til it's end. It's not very far and you can jump. At all I would say it's not very special. But nice to see.

If you want to do the official way. You have to pay wit the boat and everything something like 15 Euros per person. I wouldn't recommend that. Also I can't recommend Pangandaran. Sometimes it has a reason that places are not famous.

After the green Canyon we went over a bamboo bridge to a fishing and surf village. Till now I saw it just in the night but here are cheaper and better accommodations. Search on to your own. If somebody leads you it will be more expensive cause they pay the half to this person. It's less crowded even on holidays and season. But I think still not special but nicer than Pangandaran.
