Baitul Makmur Mosque

I will review one of the most unique mosques in the Sukamakmur, Aceh Besar. This mosque is called Baitul Makmur Mosque. This mosque is located in Sukamakmur sub-district and is one of the largest mosques in the district. Baitul Makmur Mosque has its own uniqueness in the mosque pole. The poles of this mosque have a large number and still retain the shape of the ancient mosque. Some mosques now have less columns and are covered with glass, but the Baitul Makmur mosque is still open, without glass and air conditioning. The congregation that performs worship in this mosque every time is always crowded and dense.

Inside View

Baitul Makmur mosque has a spacious interior. The poles of the mosque can be seen from the back to the front. There are approximately 20 safes in the mosque, which is the most in the mosque. The prayer mat that stretches below for prayer is also neatly installed from front to back.

The ablution place consists of male and female places. The size of the ablution place is spacious and made of ceramic so that the ablution place looks clean. The water flows fast and the number of water taps is also large. In the ablution place there is a bathroom for those who want to urinate and defecate can use it before ablution. Especially for women's ablutions, it is more private because it is closed and not visible to people from outside, especially men who are not muhrim. In addition, CCTV is also installed in the women's ablution place so that it can control all events and prevent unwanted things.

Friday is a holiday for Muslims all over the world. I went to perform the Friday prayer. Before the prayer begins, usually all mosques hold a Friday khutbah. I sit quietly listening to the tausiyah given by the preacher.

The preacher is usually a mosque imam or religious leader who understands religious values deeply. There is a lot of knowledge gained if we listen to this tausiyah. Usually the tausiyah lasts for 15 minutes and after that it is immediately followed by Friday prayers.

Center Light

The chandelier in the center is a decoration to make the mosque look more attractive and beautiful. The lamp is shaped like a pyramid where each level has a light bulb that shines brightly. This chandelier is golden in color and is one of the attractions of this mosque.

Digital Screen

Baitul Makmur mosque also provides digital screen facilities. The digital screen displays the clock, prayer time, mosque imam and date. Worshipers who are far from the front row can see this digital screen to find out the information available. The color of the digital screen writing also attracts worshipers who see it.

The air conditioner in Baitul Makmur mosque is a fan instead of air conditioning. This mosque does not use air conditioning because the mosque room is not covered by glass. So what is suitable for cooling the congregation who attend here is a fan.

There are two fans, namely wall and hanging fans. The wall fan is black in color and medium in size. The number of fans is large, according to the size of the mosque. Meanwhile, the hanging fan is large and white in color. Both fans are able to make the room in the mosque cool and the worshipers also do not feel hot so that all are comfortable in carrying out worship.

Prayer mat

All rows of the mosque have prayer mats placed. Prayer mats are used for the congregation to perform worship so that the knees and head when touching the floor do not feel pain. The condition of the prayer mat is good, nothing is torn. In addition, the mat is also clean and fragrant.

Baitul Makmur Mosque has loudspeakers in almost every corner of the mosque and mosque pillars. There are two types of loudspeakers: black and white. The black speakers are larger than the white ones. But both of these loudspeakers despite their different sizes, the sound produced remains loud and clear.

The last facility provided by the Baitul Makmur Mosque is a large parking lot. The yard for car parking is very wide and can accommodate up to 50 cars, while the motorcycle parking lot is no less spacious. There are up to 3 special places with a roof so that the motorbike does not overheat. The worshipers who come to this mosque do not need to worry about the vehicles that will be brought, whether it's a car or motorcycle, all can be parked comfortably.
