Looking for a place to worship but already want to eat and relax at the cafe. Pray first and then eat but later the distance is far from the cafe, the stomach is already hungry. The solution is to pray at the Great Mosque of Heroes. The Great Mosque of Heroes is located in front of the Heroes Cemetery where the previous heroes are buried. This mosque has a very strategic location where next to the mosque there is a cafe complete with all kinds of food and drinks, next to it is the Ateuk Jawo market which sells all kinds of vegetables for home needs and 5 minutes to the city center. The Great Mosque of Heroes is open 24 hours, so anyone can worship here. This mosque is also one of the oldest mosques in the city of Banda Aceh and continues to undergo renovations and changes for the better.

The mosque consists of two levels and has two domes extending to the sky. The Great Mosque of Heroes has a white color on the outside and inside. There are two entrances to the inside from the front, and from the right and left there is one entrance.

The inside of the mosque is clean and beautiful. Everything is white accompanied by green prayer mats and gold carvings of the imam's room. The mosque is not too tall and has two floors. At certain moments such as Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr prayers, the congregation will fill up to the second floor.

The Great Mosque of Heroes is supported by a large air conditioner. This mosque is covered by glass so that it is not too easy to dust and of course the dust makes the worshipers who want to pray will be disturbed. With this air conditioner, the room becomes cool and comfortable.

The charity savings account is placed near the entrance. This charity savings account is padlocked and chained so as not to be stolen by irresponsible people. This charity savings account is provided so that worshipers who want to set aside a little of their wealth for those in need, can go through this charity savings account.

^{Imam Prayer Room}

In this section there are prayer mats, pulpits and microphones. These three parts have their respective functions. The prayer mat is used by the imam to lead the congregational prayer, the pulpit is used by the speaker to give advice and tausiyah on holidays such as Friday prayers, Eid al-Fitr and Hajj. Finally, this microphone is used by the muezzin to call the azan when the azan prayer time has arrived.

I went to the mosque to pray zuhr. I happened to be meeting a friend at the café next to the mosque, so I prayed first, fearing that I would forget and miss the noon prayer.

The Great Mosque of Heroes also provides loudspeaker and fan facilities. Although this mosque already has air conditioning as an air conditioner, but because this mosque is a little low and will certainly feel hot steam from outside, eating is given additional wind power from the fan so that visitors remain solemn in carrying out worship. While this loudspeaker has the benefit that when the preacher gives tausiyah all the worshipers who attend can hear the preacher's voice clearly.

There are two toilets in this mosque, male and female. The men's and women's toilets are located in separate parts, the men's toilet is on the left side of the entrance while the women's toilet is on the right side of the entrance. The condition of the toilet for both is clean and fragrant. Visitors or worshipers who want to perform worship will feel the pleasure of being in the mosque.

The motorcycle parking area is inside the mosque compound. The area is quite spacious and the floor is tiled. If in a crowded congregation, the parking area is extended outside the gate right next to the car park.

Finally, the Great Mosque of Heroes has a sandal and shoe rack facility. This shelf helps so that worshipers can put their sandals or shoes in the place provided. The sandals so as not to overheat or be trampled by others.
