Lhokseumawe City Museum seen from the front

Hi Steemians, how are you? Currently the weather in my city is in the rainy season. Well, for friends who want to travel, don't forget to bring a coat, warm clothes, and an umbrella. Don't forget to eat nutritious food and keep a good rest pattern.

Okay, this time I want to invite all Steemians to visit a place that is full of history and heritage of Acehnese culture. which is in Indonesia. Aceh is one of the provinces in my country, Indonesia. A lot of history and heritage about ancient Aceh is still stored in this Lhokseumawe City Museum.

The Lhokseumawe City Museum was established in 2014, meaning it has been standing strong for 11 years in Lhokseumawe City until now. The Lhokseumawe City Museum is owned by the Lhokseumawe City government which is managed by the Lhokseumawe City Education and Culture Office.

Lhokseumawe City Museum is located on Jalan Teuku Hamzah Bendanara, Kuta Blang, Banda Sakti, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh, Indonesia. Its strategic location in the heart of Lhokseumawe City makes it easily accessible from anywhere. It's open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

When we enter the Lhokseumawe City Museum, we will see a very spacious courtyard. From the outside, we will see a monument topped with a beautiful miniature sailing ship, located at the front of the museum. Then in the middle of the courtyard stands the Lhokseumawe City Museum, which is shaped like a traditional Acehnese house on stilts with wood carvings.

To the left of the museum, there are 3 houses like huts that are used as rice barns and places to pound rice. Meanwhile, to the right of the museum, there is a hall in the form of a hut where village residents hold meetings. Next to it is a hut where the drums are stored or hung, which are used to gather the community to participate in joint deliberations.

Then we will step into the interior of the Museum using the stairs. Once inside, you will see several rooms inside. The first room we will encounter is "Seuramoe Keu" or the Front Room. In this room, you will see many photos of Acehnese heroes, mayor Of Aceh and photos of the city of Lhokseumawe in the past displayed on the walls.

Several glass cabinets are seen storing many ancient objects such as old holy verses, coins and stones, jugs, copper and brass cutlery. There are also sharp objects from the past such as rencong, machetes and spears. In this room there is also a display of musical instruments and the seats of the kings of Aceh in the past.

Next, as we enter the central room, also known as Seuramoe teungoh, we will see two rooms on the left and right. On the left is a complete Acehnese wedding hall. This room displays examples of traditional Acehnese wedding decorations. This wedding room is decorated in a festive manner, complete with a silver bridal dining area made of gold.

Meanwhile, to the right is an example of a bridal chamber from ancient times. There is a large iron bed with a mosquito net. This room is very simple, only having one bed and one wardrobe. However, it is quite well-ventilated with a fairly large window, so the room is not stuffy.

Next, we entered the back room, also known as Seuramoe likot. In this room, various traditional Acehnese musical instruments were neatly displayed. These instruments included the rapai, gendrang, and canang. There were also miniatures of traditional Acehnese houses and ancient bridal jewelry stored in glass cabinets.

In this room, there was also a work desk for the staff who worked there. Several books were visible on wooden shelves. Several award certificates and trophies were also visible on the wooden shelves. Several documents and a printer were also available on the table.

After the rear room, or Seuramoe likot, there are steps leading to the lower room, which is the kitchen, or dapu in Acehnese. This kitchen area houses cooking utensils, including a wood-burning stove. Several cooking utensils, such as pots, water jugs, and fishing gear, are made from woven bamboo.

A bicycle, a vintage vehicle, is also on display there. This area also serves as the exit from the museum. There are several officers working here. They are very friendly and always answer our questions clearly and promptly. They are ready to provide any information we need.

For residents of Lhokseumawe and the surrounding area who have never visited the Lhokseumawe City Museum, please bring your family, friends, or students. Likewise, for travelers who might one day stop by Lhokseumawe City, don't forget to schedule a stop at the Lhokseumawe City Museum.

Besides being a historical and cultural tourist attraction, the Lhokseumawe Museum also plays a vital role as an educational center. My students and I visited this place during the fifth grade during the previous year's independence curriculum.

We, the teachers, took turns bringing all our students from grades 7, 8, and 9 of high school to learn about Acehnese history and culture. The museum is also regularly visited by students and researchers from within and outside Lhokseumawe City to learn more about Acehnese history and culture.
