Holy place #9 - "Barimajlish Madrasa Jame Masjid"
Steemian Friends,
Today, I will write about our country's historical mosques through the @miftahulrizky Steem-atlas contest. While going from the capital, Dhaka, to my hometown, Comilla, I visited the mosque at a bus stop. The mosque is Barimajlish Madrasa Jame Masjid. It was built in 1102 AH and renovated at various times. The mosque is about two hundred years old.

The mosque is located in Mograpara, Narayanganj district, on the Dhaka to Chittagong highway. Our bus stopped by the highway for Asr prayers. I got off the bus and headed to the mosque. There is a large entrance gate by the highway. The mosque and madrasa are currently run under the Mir Abbas Complex. The institution has a children's home, an Islamic education centre for the elderly, and a few madrasas. I learned about it by reading the banner at the main gate.
Then, I entered the mosque and saw a playground. Many madrasa students were busy playing football. I watched the madrasa students play football for some time. Then I moved towards the mosque. Some beautiful trees were planted in front of the mosque. There is a place for ablution on the right side of the entrance to the mosque. The front of the mosque has been raised to create a place for people to pray.

There are several domes in the mosque. Such domes are found in the ancient mosques of our country, but they are rarely seen nowadays. I stood in front of the mosque and took a few pictures. On the left side of the mosque is the madrasa complex. A few madrasa students are studying Arabic, but most of the students are busy playing football.
Then I entered the mosque. A few people got off the bus and were praying Asr. The mosque has a very large, air-conditioned space. Prayer times are given inside the mosque. The Quran is recited in a specific place inside the mosque. A box is next to the mosque for storing shoes. Besides, there are many fans installed inside the mosque.
Then, I got to talk to a madrasa teacher for two minutes. Our bus was leaving for Comilla, so I left quickly. I wanted to know about the history of the mosque. There are about two hundred students in the madrasa next to the mosque. I was very happy to see the madrasa students playing sports because children need to play sports along with their studies.
