Hello, Steemian friends! On this occasion, I would like to share my experience visiting one of the favorite bakeries in Lhokseumawe City, namely Toko Bolu Menara. This shop opened about 6 months ago and is located near my house.

Bolu Menara is one of the famous types of sponge cake from Medan City, which has become the most sought-after specialty food and souvenir. Along with its popularity, Bolu Menara has opened many branches in various regions, including in Aceh, precisely in Lhokseumawe City.

The Bolu Menara store is located on Jalan Medan Banda Aceh, Uteunkot Village, Muara Dua District. The location is quite strategic, adjacent to the main road, making it easily accessible. From the outside, the appearance of this shop is quite simple with one glass entrance. This makes us even more interested in seeing firsthand the contents of the favorite foods sold in Toko Bolu Menara.

🏠 The atmosphere from inside

The atmosphere inside the store is clean and cozy, equipped with bright lighting and air conditioning facilities that make shopping more comfortable.

From inside we can notice that there is a wide selection of sponge cake stored but in the refrigerator. The sponge cake is neatly stored in a three-door refrigerator, with a large selection of sponge cake available. But when I visited some types of sponge cake had run out, said the waiter on duty.

Apart from selling sponge cake, Menara Sponge Shop also sells snacks such as crackers and dolls. All prices offered in my opinion are quite affordable.

The cashier area in this shop is simply designed, serving as a place for transactions and wrapping orders. Near the cashier, there were some North Sumatran snacks, such as kuih kacang and semprong, which caught my eye, although I decided to buy them on another occasion.

💸 A wide selection of menus at affordable prices

While I was there, the waitress kindly gave me a list of the sponge cakes they offered, all of which looked delicious and attractive at affordable prices, ranging from Rp45,000 to Rp55,000 (18 - 22 Steem, calculated based on prices on Friday, April 25, 2025).

I was confused to choose the sponge cake with the most delicious flavor variant and suitable for everyone's tongue, I asked the shop assistant to give recommendations for the best-selling sponge cake here.

I decided to order the triple chocolate sponge cake with a price of Rp50,000 or around 25 Steem, which is one of the new variants and is the best-selling product according to information from the waiter.

In addition to the triple chocolate sponge cake, there are also many other sponge cake options, such as cheese sponge cake, pandan serikaya, teng-teng peanut, Medan orange, banana nail, Black Forest, pancake, pandan durian and many other various flavors.

The assistant at Bolu Menara is quite good, although there is only one assistant on duty. This makes the shop assistant a little overwhelmed when many buyers come. However, the shop assistant remains alert and friendly in serving customers. For payment, this shop accepts cash transactions or online transfers.
