Sat Gambuj mosque, Mohammadpur (Dhaka)

We all believe in religion and we all pray to our Creator, so as a Muslim, I have my place of prayer (mosque) and it is known as one of the tourist attractions in our country.
The (Bangla name sat gambuj mosque) Seven Dome Mosque is located in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, and is named Seven Dome Mosque because of its 4 minarets and 3 domes.
Shaista Khan built this mosque in 1680, but if we consider this mosque, it is a mosque from about 345 years ago. The mosque is open 24 hours a day, every day of the week. The mosque is always clean.
The transportation route to get there is very easy, this mosque can be seen just 5 5-minute walk from the Mohammadpur bus stop. There are 4 rows inside the mosque for praying, about 90 people can pray there, Besides, there is a field-like area outside, which is about 16 meters long and 8 meters wide, and can accommodate about 400 people.
3 Domes
4 Minars
Surprisingly, the truth is that this mosque was earlier located on the banks of the Buriganga river, where many king's subjects kept their boats and launches here and prayed in this mosque, but due to the change in geography, the area around this mosque is now filled with buildings. Now the distance from this mosque to the Buriganga River is about 40-41 kilometers.
It is said that the grave of Shaista Khan's daughter
Notice signboard about this grave
There is a tomb on the east side of the mosque, and it is said that it is the tomb of Shaista Khan's daughter. However, this tomb is also known as Bibi's tomb. There is a ban on public entry. Currently, since this mosque is very old, it is now under the care of archaeologists.
However, it is sadly reported that there is an Imam (Imam is an Islamic leadership position), a Muazzin (Muslim official who calls the faithful to prayer five times a day from the minaret of a mosque), and 2 Khadem (Khadem" is a common Arabic and Persian word meaning "attendant") in the mosque whose salary is supposed to come from the government.
Still, they do not receive any money from the government, and there is a mosque committee here, the Imam, Muazzin, and Khadem are paid from the mosque's donation money.
There are many mosques in Mohammadpur where people give about 20-25 thousand taka to the mosque during every Friday prayer day. However, in this seven-domed mosque, the donation money is 4-5 thousand taka every Friday prayer day. A video on YouTube about their situation went viral in our country.
There are several graves inside the mosque.
I came to pray in this mosque for the first time, because the temperature is high in our country, and it has been covered with beautiful cloth to facilitate praying outside. And there is a small cemetery inside the mosque. Muslims are buried there.
Place for ablution
The ablution room of the mosque has been renovated, and tiles have been installed there, which has become a bit convenient for the common people. Filters have been installed there for drinking filtered water.
Entrance
Entrance
The door and the chain to attach it, just like the day before
There are 5 doors to enter the mosque, where 3 doors are in the front on the right and 2 doors on the left. There are wooden and chained doors on the doors from the previous day. However, when I entered, everything was the same as before.
Inside the mosque
Place to keep the Quran
Clock to tell time
The Imam's prayer place.
Apart from the doors, there are 25 fans, and each fan is of the previous model. There is a separate arrangement for keeping the Quran, and whoever wants to can read it. There is a prayer mat in the Imam prayer place and a ceiling fan above, and a clock to see the time.
Design inside the dome
Electrical switch
Inside the mosque, there is a separate design in the 3 large domes that can be seen from the inside. There is a switch from the previous day for the mosque's electric meter or for turning the electricity on and off, and the electrical wiring is exposed.
There are small designs in the shape of the mosque in places throughout the mosque, which add to its beauty. Everything there is like everything from the previous model.
Donation box
Funeral place
Mortuary bed
There are a few donation boxes in the mosque, and the donation box is black, and there is a donation box written there. In addition, there is a beautiful empty space at the back of the mosque, and the dome is slightly visible from the back. Funeral prayers are offered in this space, and there is an iron bed to keep the body there.
A large garden
Something artificially
A signboard listing the history of this mosque is provided.
To show the beauty, there is a small water area on the west side of the mosque where some artificial flowers and seating areas have been made to highlight its beauty.
Apart from the mosque, there is a very large garden, and in the garden, there is a signboard that highlights the history of this mosque. However, this mosque has become one of the tourist attractions of our country.
