"Melodies of the World"
My dear steemian fellows! I am @syedabatool from Pakistan 🇵🇰. Today I participate in the contest that is organized by"@oswaldocuarta ".The topic of contest that is "contest: Melodies Of The World".so, without wastage of time let's start.
What's the first song that comes to mind when you think of a family celebration or a holiday from your culture?
The first songs that usually come to mind are:
“Mehndi Hai Rachne Wali” – often played at weddings, bringing instant festive vibes.
“Dil Dil Pakistan” – a classic that everyone sings on Independence Day or national celebrations.
Traditional folk songs (like "Bari Barsi or Lathe Di Chadar") – loved at mehndi and dholki events.
Each of these has its own place , weddings are filled with folk and mehndi songs, while Eid and national holidays often bring out patriotic or spiritual songs.
In Pakistani culture, songs are like the soul of celebrations. No wedding is complete without dholki nights where everyone gathers to sing old folk tunes.
The beauty of these songs is that they are passed down from generation to generation, and even the youngest family members enjoy singing along. The rhythm of the dhol and the clapping of hands make the atmosphere truly unforgettable.
What song would you use to welcome someone to your country?
That’s a lovely thought 🌸 In Pakistan, one of the best songs to welcome someone would be “Sohni Dharti Allah Rakhe” because it beautifully describes the love for our land and the blessings of nature here. It gives a warm, patriotic, and heartfelt feeling, almost like the country itself is opening its arms to a guest._
Another popular choice could be “Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan”, which spreads a message of unity and happiness. Both songs are full of energy and pride, making them perfect to greet someone and show the true spirit of Pakistan.
In short, Pakistani songs are full of warmth and love. They are a great way to show guests that our country is not only beautiful but also full of friendly and caring people.
What is a special melody, rhythm, or song that makes you feel at home, no matter where you are?
A song that makes many Pakistanis feel at home is Jazba-e-Junoon by Junoon. Its strong beat and powerful words bring a feeling of energy, hope, and unity. Whenever people hear it, they remember cricket matches, national days, and the excitement of being together with family and friends. Even if someone is far away from Pakistan, this song can instantly remind them of the passion and love for their country.
And some other songs like "jhoom" that is sing by "Ali Zafar". This song has a calm, soulful rhythm that brings peace. For many, it feels like sitting with family on a quiet evening. And one more like “Afreen Afreen” that is a song of "Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan". This qawwali is famous worldwide. Its melody connects people to their roots, culture, and traditions, no matter where they are.
What is the melody that gives you energy when you are sad or unmotivated?
A really motivating melody in Pakistan is "Allah Hi Dega by Strings". Its tune is uplifting, and the lyrics remind people to have faith and keep moving forward no matter the situation. The rhythm gives hope and courage, especially when someone is feeling low or unmotivated. Songs like this push people to stay strong and remind them that better days are always ahead.
Another strong motivating melody is "Hum Hain Pakistani, Hum To Jeetain Gey". Its fast beat and energetic words make people feel powerful and ready to achieve anything. It’s often played in schools or sports events to inspire confidence and teamwork.
The song describe my life I tell how they describe because I am happy in my life so this song give me hope and feeling well not feel sad and also give energy.
"What is the first song you would play for an alien to help them understand your culture?
The song that first arose in our mind to understand our culture is “Chaap Tilak” by Abida Parveen & Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. This song represents Sufi poetry and spirituality in Pakistan. The melody is soulful and shows the deep connection people have with faith, love, and devotion.
Its melody is soft yet powerful, and it shows how music in Pakistani culture is not just for entertainment but also for spirituality and inner peace. For someone new to our culture, this song would be a beautiful way to understand the soulful and poetic side of Pakistan.
If you had to describe your life with a song, which one would you choose and why?
The song that I choose to describe my life is that “Kar Gayi Chull” (from Bollywood). It is full of fun, energy, and dance beats. This kind of song makes you want to smile, clap, and move with the music. You may like it because it brings a light mood and takes away stress.
Songs like this are perfect for parties, friends’ gatherings, or even when you are alone but want to feel cheerful. The rhythm and playful lyrics remind us that sometimes life is about enjoying little moments with happiness.

This music, by the way, I really like because it's a fusion of Persian, Arabic, and Turkish traditions.
