Family Day Out at Natural Park Takengon
Two months ago, in August, my family and I went to Takengon to attend my nephew’s Aqiqah celebration. It was a lovely family gathering full of smiles and laughter.
After the event, my kids asked to go out and play somewhere fun,play kidz or lut tawar lake. We decided to visit Natural Park, a family-friendly recreation area only about 30 minutes from my uncle’s house.

When we arrived, we parked our car (Rp10,000) and bought entrance tickets for Rp10,000 each. As soon as we entered, the cool mountain air and green scenery made us feel fresh and happy. The kids ran around right away, looking for the rides they liked the most.
To capture those precious memories, I also recorded a few short videos of our fun moments at the park, from my kids’ laughter to our relaxing time on the green hills.
Our youngest son, Ubay, bravely tried the climbing wall. At first, we thought he just wanted to look, but suddenly he started to climb up and then went down so calmly! My wife was a bit panicked watching him, while I honestly felt that I wouldn’t dare to do what he did.

After that little “panic moment,” I brought the kids to a safer activity, riding bicycles on the lower track. It was fun and relaxing, surrounded by trees and fresh air. The kids were laughing and racing each other while I just enjoyed watching them.

Sometimes, happiness is just watching the kids play under the open sky. The natural park was full of simple joy and green memories.

The playground is covered with soft synthetic grass, so the kids can run and play freely without worrying about getting hurt.

The park provided good facilities on the playground, Bicycle track, Rabbit garden, Fishpool, and also clean toilets and a small mushalla (prayer room). The water was clean and cold , typical of mountain water, and the mushalla itself was clean and well-maintained. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos of the mushalla since, at that time, I wasn’t actively writing on Steemit yet. So unlike my recent posts, this one doesn’t have detailed photos.

After playing, everyone got hungry. So, we went to the cafe in the middle of the park. We ordered some food,fried noodles for the kids, and fried rice with warm drinks for me and my wife. The food was quite good, though the price was a bit higher than usual. Still, with that cool air and nice view, it was totally worth it.

After eating, I took Ubay and the kids to see the animal garden at the back area. There were rabbits, jungle fowls, turkeys, and even a fish pond.

While they were playing, I sat on climbing track near the playground, enjoying the breeze and watching them from a distance. It was a peaceful moment,simple but full of happiness.
Before leaving, we took a few family photos together. Everyone was smiling, a little tired but very happy. It was truly a sweet and memorable day for us at Natural Park Takengon.

Before 6,we went home after taking some photos. It was one of those simple, happy moments that make you feel grateful for family and nature.
Natural Park is more than just a playground, it’s a place to breathe, relax, and spending love with your loved family.

Every trip doesn’t have to be far or fancy, sometimes, the most beautiful memories come from simple moments with family. Watching the kids laugh, feeling the cool mountain breeze, and sharing stories over a plate of fried noodles, that’s what happiness really means.
Can’t wait to visit Takengon again someday, and who knows, maybe next time I’ll share the full video of our little adventure at Natural Park.
