In the village’s tender embrace, beneath the sun’s golden gaze, in Akpahia, Umuahia North LGA, ABIA STATE NIGERIA.
I stumbled upon a sight, a hymn to love’s sweet phase.
A husband and wife, side by side, their laundry they did share,
With hands that wove a bond, beyond the morning air.

Shirtless he sat, with care a shoe he scrubbed so fine,
While she, in green and pink, her spirit did entwine.
A metal basin sang with suds, their laughter filled the space,
Against an orange wall, where nature kissed the place.

Wooden stools their thrones, with buckets round their feet,
A symphony of chores, where love and duty meet.
Through window’s verdant frame, their joy did softly bloom,
A dance of souls in tandem, dispelling all life’s gloom.

Oh, what beauty lies in marriage’s gentle art,
Two hearts in unison, where humble tasks impart.
In suds and soil, their love a timeless tale does weave,
A testament to partnership, in every thread they cleave.

This vision stirred my soul, a lesson pure and true,
