RE: Dear the greatest Bid-bot owner on Steemit...
Why are Bid-bot owners accepting bids that will return a negative R.O.I.?
This! Thank you.
I don't have any coding experience but it shouldn't be that hard to code something like that. Heck, why not take it a step further and stop the bidding rounds when the ROI is below a certain percentage. That way, each round will always be a good investment for the bidders. No matter if they bid small or large.
We are not a cash machine
That's exactly what bid bots are. For the owners. They make insane amounts of money due to people trying to get a somewhat decent ROI.
Another thing I personally would want, is a limit to 1 bid for each round. I've seen dozens of people enter $10 SBD bids 2 or 3 times in the same rounds, for 2 or 3 different articles. If a limit was in place, that made it impossible for the same author to bid more than once, this would also increase the ROI chance for everyone.
And, if we're worried about authors getting alternative accounts. Why not limit not the user of the bot but the author of the article to get votes multiple times from the same rounds.
So if there's already a bid for an article by @hitmeasap, don't allow a second or a third article by the same user. No matter who the bidders are.
hey!
Yes it's not hard to code at all and it's certainly not the reason.
Limiting to a unique bid per user doesn't really solve the issue - they are just reducing their ROI/promotion on the other posts I think. Maxing the bid per user sounds good though.
And I thought I was being cheeky! haha :D
Cheers!
Yeah, they're reducing the ROI for all the posts in the same rounds, so with 2 or more bids, you'll decrease your own ROI meanwhile you'll also affect the ROI for the other bidders too.
So even if something like that wouldn't solve issues, it should definitely help to keep the ROI at better percentages. At least that's how I see things.
Well, cheeky or not... Kind of "common sense" to me actually. They claim themselves to not be cash machines and for "promotional" use. - But where's the promotion if the users ends up with a negative ROI?
I could basically just give someone $1 SBD to flag my post at a certain percentage instead. - That's not the greatest idea when it comes to promotion. ^^
haha, don't say that! :D
You will always get something of an up-vote, certainly not a - vote. But yes, this amount is in the hands of the other bidders - some of which have much bigger pockets than others.
