RE: IVF to the rescue of the disappearing species?
full of both possibility and danger.
More the latter, as I think of the Woolly Mammoth, Tyrannosaurus Rex for starters...best to keep those guys in Jurassic Park ;+). It's disturbing enough to know the ability to clone humans.
Sadly, this rhino is killed for his horns. I guess IVF would be an interesting 'experiment' if it's successful in preventing the extinction of a species. I don't know why this thought brings to mind the Dodo bird; and speculation on what caused its extinction.
Interesting post.
Peace.
I wouldn't worry too much about dinosaurs roaming around - even if we bring them back to life, they are predictable and thus easy enough to control. Now what I would worry about far more would be something like a mouse with improved intellectual abilities.
But your point is well taken for sure,
Tell that to the guys in the bush trying to avert a bullish elephant stampede.
I won't even try to fathom this on less than a pot of coffee...lol...
Peace.
Elephants are mammals with analytical abilities possibly rivaling human. Reptilians are much less intelligent and thus far more predictable and far less dangerous, size and muscle mass notwithstanding.
Now if we take a mouse and get it to taste-differentiate common pest control poisons, avoid traps, better detect cracks in warehouses, etc. we could have a real superpest on our hands that could seriously undermine agriculture, food supplies, etc.
Tell that to the person out for a walk near a quiet pond, who sees the sleepy gator acting uninterested, emerge rapidly from the waters for an evening snack of the human kind...oh dear goodness..I guess you could prolly call this 'predictable'...lol..but...dunno'...don't trust elephants, reptiles, or humans for that matter...lol..
There are sonar devices that make them hypersensitive to, unheard by human ears.
It's getting late, and I don't want nightmares...lol...so let's put a period on this discussion (PERIOD).
Of course, you may have the last word.
Peace.
