He is a frequent participant of the so-called "mixed bird flock". In it, he periodically glances at other species of birds in order to keep up with the flock.

He peck a thin bark on the branches, and searches for insects hiding under it.

Sexual dimorphism is expressed in the absence of a red cap in females.
