RE: The United Kingdom (UK) prepares to deport thousands of Caribbean Nationals--> Windrush generation... I am disappointed and hurt

in #blog7 years ago

Yep its a sad case, Theresa May has given the assurance that their case would be handled properly but that's the mouth of a politician so you have to take it with a pitch of salt.... I think it was a mistake by many of these small islands to gain independence and the exodus to the UK and USA was inevitable, I don't see things improving and probably would get worse while small portion of the population would make progress the larger sect would face the reality... If these folks are indeed deported especially at that age and time in their life, most would be coming home to nothing, added to the poor healthcare and high unemployment it would further complicate the problem... With the high level of debt among Caribbean governments its only a matter of time before reality really soaks in, I am still optimistic and hope for the best and probably UK, USA and Europe would at least consider historical ties, these islands need to rally behind each other, sit down and look closely at food security and probably rekindle trade with South America, given the time we are in, its in everyone interest to ensure that Venezuela comes out of this stronger and more robust it would really give the region a boost.... Funny enough, England post-brexit strategy as they say is spreading their influence within the Commonwealth, great way to start
