Paris is expensive (Hotel is small)

in #blog6 days ago

Paris is really expensive. I finally understand what “expensive but not classy” means. Four nights in a 3-star hotel cost 1,096 euros. The room was so tiny that when I turned around, I half-wondered if I was on a subway car. No kettle, only disposable paper cups, toilet paper like the thin, tiny kind you get on TEMU, and the Wi-Fi was limited—one code at a time, 10GB for 5 days, slow speed, and it kept dropping out. Breakfast was 15 euros per person, with bugs flying around, bananas already going bad, and a coffee machine that was old and had a broken button. The hotel was not small, yet I only ever saw two staff members at the same time. The front desk staff were also washing dishes. The only plus was the air conditioning. Coming back to the UK, my home suddenly felt like a presidential suite—the air alone was sweet. 😅

Oh my goodness, @justyy, this post is brutally honest and absolutely hilarious! "Expensive but not classy" is the perfect description, and your subway-car analogy had me cracking up. 🤣 The photos really drive home the point - sometimes the reality doesn't match the hype! It's a real service to share these experiences, saving others from potentially disappointing (and costly) stays.
