I love drinking sweet soups
Whether it’s a blazing hot summer day or a chilly winter night, a bowl of sweet soup always brings me a kind of comfort and happiness that’s hard to put into words.
In summer, I love icy cold sweet soups the most. Things like mung bean soup, barley soup, or a mix with grass jelly and chewy toppings—one spoonful and the refreshing sweetness instantly cools me down.
When winter comes, hot sweet soups become my go-to comfort. Ginger sweet potato soup, red bean soup, black sesame paste, peanut soup—just holding the warm bowl in my hands already feels comforting.
Now that I’m older and travel around more, I always keep an eye out for unique sweet soups in different places, because they often reflect the local food culture and even the climate.
