A Serene Sunday 😇.........Northwest Cascade Wanderings

Interesting picture that one….it almost looks like a double moon from a sci-fi show on some far away planet. Nope-that was the view last night from my computer loft. The window is double pane glass and reflects a ghost image of the moon. Kind of cool though!

Sunday morning headed to church. What an awesome service and worship time it was!

Afterwards, we came home. I found Cyle in Cot’s box.

As a matter of fact, he’s back in it as I type this. 😸

After doing some housework and riding the stationary bike, we had a quick bite of lunch and then met up with Jan to head out for a hike. I wanted to go to Towhee Ridge as I’ve not been there in a while. We actually ended up going to Slumbering Bear and then Towhee Ridge. I’ve walked and hiked over 7 miles today! A first in a long while! 😎👍

Vanilla leaf is a plant that grows low to the forest floor here. It’s a natural bug repellent and smells like vanilla-hence the name. Crush the leaves and rub your hands on your arms and legs. Here’s what it looks like.

I had a couple of stow aways in my pack today.

@actifit-lamb and cousin Wellington Lamb, snuck into the pack when I wasn’t looking. They wanted to go to Towhee Ridge as well! Once there, the enjoyed a little freedom running here and there and finally settled down on the picnic table.

As you can see, Pepe Frog had also joined them!

They all enjoyed their time together.

On the way down, I saw this little butterfly. Does it know it sitting on stinging nettles?! 😳

One last pretty thistle-like plant which i think is Burdock. IF I’m right, then it’s a plant that has some medicinal properties. I studied it briefly some years ago, but would have to re-look the information to be sure.

I had the best step day I've had in a long, long time!
