Happy Caturday everybody! 😻
The day began with the first dip in the hot tub for the season! It was lovely; we spent almost an hour submerged! 😎
The oil change for Zuki was next. We are headed to Bill and Agi’s next week and wanted to get the oil done beforehand. Once that was done, we took Zuki on a trip to Lynden to fill up on gas’s for the week and to make sure there were no leaks. So naturally, we stopped here:
After some much need re-fueling for us, we stopped at Lynden City Park. Across the street from the park on the other side of the road, is a new trail and I was curious. It was a blacktopped trail meandering alongside the stream that flows through the other side of the park. There were spots of shade, but for the most part, it was in the sun. I burn easily, so I was beginning to wonder if this was a mistake. However a little ways down the path, this caught my eye.
Hmmmmm…. I figured it went over the stream and it looked interesting, so despite the sun, we continued on until we got to the bridge.
This was built just last year and is a fully suspension bridge. The steel cables were probably close to 2” in diameter and the lumber on the decking was a good 3” thick! I was out in the middle of it when @silvertop started to join me. That’s when I noticed the ‘motion’. You could actually barely jump and watch the whole thing move. A bit eerie, but basically harmless. The stream isn’t deep right now and it was probably only a 6-ish foot drop. It would hurt for sure but you wouldn’t drown! I wasn’t really worried anyway. It’s new and it was well built. I just found it surprising that it swayed as much as it did.
Once across to the other side, there was more sun. Not much shade until I spied this.
An elevated walkway of sorts over a potential marshy area. A lovely reprieve from the sun!

We stayed on that walkway in the shade for a bit to cool off, and then headed back.
Back in the other part of the park, this little fella might make you think he’s a cat.
His tail gives him away, though.

That wraps up our adventures for this Caturday-but wait! I’m going to ‘bookend’ this with Cot. He’d feel left out if I didn’t!
