Oh My! 🙀🙀🙀............ NW Cascade Wanderings

I know what you’re thinking and you would be correct! We spent the morning visiting in North Bend with our son, daughter in law and granddaughter. We packed up the car after saying our goodbyes and headed to Starbucks for a coffee for the road. Mt. Si with mist….

Six miles out; traffic backed up as the DOT fed it from 4 lanes to two. I heard a noise and even commented on what was wrong with the truck next to us. However as we creeped on down the road, it became apparent it wasn’t someone’s truck but my faithful Zuki!!🙀 It sounded like a flat tire, so I pulled between the orange barrels for @silvertop to check it out. Nope-no flat. Hmmmm….🧐

I popped the hood and he was able to locate the source of the noise. A V belt running the alternator, the power steering and the water pump was shredding apart! So I looked for the AAA card and made a phone call. Due to other calls and traffic, it took the tow truck driver 2.5 hours to reach us. He loaded the car and I proceeded to literally climb up into the cab. It was a long way up! Due to space, I sat jacked between him and @silvertop. He returned us to our son’s place just 6 miles up the road. Bill had already gotten the belt and as I am typing this around 6:30, they’ve put the car back together!

I’m so thankful it happened only 6 miles from their place and not halfway home! AAA was terrific, the tow truck driver was as well, and of course, our son who has inherited his dad’s mechanical aptitude!

So, I’ve had more grandma’ time with our granddaughter and we’re spending another night with them.

Here’s a picture of Phoenix and Banjo respectively.

My steps for the day:

Despite the car breaking down, it’s been a good day.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

NKJV Jeremiah 29:11-14

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.

@elizabethbit, what a morning! Your storytelling is captivating, even when it involves roadside repairs! From the misty Mt. Si view to the dramatic V-belt disintegration of "Zuki," you paint such a vivid picture. I'm so glad the breakdown happened close to your son's place – talk about a blessing in disguise! More grandma time is always a win. Phoenix and Banjo are adorable, and it's wonderful to see the family helping each other out. This post reminds us that even when things go sideways, there's always something to be thankful for. Sending good vibes and may the rest of your stay be smooth sailing. Have a great day with the family!
