I hadn't heard this facet of Bolsonaro, but it makes a lot of sense. He's certainly tipping Brazil far to the right socially. It's not surprising that he'd similarly tip towards fascism economically.

Sad if true, as Brazil's natural resources are worth far more than what they can bring on the market today. Just as CRISPR begins to democratize use of our burgeoning grasp of genetic diversity and free life from the grip of corporate profiteers, a push to mine the natural wealth of that complexity for mere timber and gold would impoverish us all.
