"Wordsmith Fiction Week 3 : Season 24 - The Last Photo"
Hello friends and welcome to my article in this educative edition of SLC: S24/W3 as composed by @senehesa and this would definitely be my entry.
Nadeesha a great faithful, obsessed with photographic images of the wild. Her camera was her best friend. She never set eyes off it. Either its hanging on her shoulders or slung around her neck. She was in love with taking pictures of beautiful animals in the wild. Amidst her collections were a deer drinking, birds feeding it's chick, leopard yawning hungrily.
On this beautiful day her alarm blaring so profusely, she was up almost immediately. She lazily sought for her camera with eyes almost closed. Of course she was drowsy, she quickly cleaned up and had a shower to follow her passionate dreams. She venturers into the "Wild Amazon" a deep forest in her little village, dangerous to sight but blissful to her soul.
Moreso, the thick ancient trees had a canopy-like covering shielding tye zone from sunlight, it was humid and cold amidst the scorching sun, which indeed explains alot. She was find if whistling and did that gracefully as she journeyed in. She had already built a great collection which was so outstanding to watch, the raging lion roaring to claim his territory, a tiger fiercely chasing a gazelle, asides alot of other beautiful collection.

Importantly, she had to explore a hidden lake deep in the woods and would not want to flinch an eyelid without making it possible. She alerted her brother and happily delved into her adventure, it was not an easy one as she happily explored. She didn't come back as planned and it stirred a turmoil in the village. Everyone wanted to know what really kept her in the wild till such late hours.
Furthermore, the villagers organised themselves in order of search parties to find the missing creative photographer. It was indeed a risky adventure, as the lamps and torches were switched on. The men with lamps and fire stands followed suit as they held up the activites of search. As they stepped into the Amazon, it dawned on them that it was a suicide mission as dangerous bats circled the sky.
They eventually got in and it was so humid and cold with little or no noise, except occasional humming and hooting of weird insects and birds alike. They could perceive fierceness without looking. There were lots of creeping insects and creaking sound as they moved on and could not believe how deadly such a zone could be. There were trails of wild cats and dead bones lying carelessly. Jaws were dropped and the searchers were so keen to pick up a trail of a human foot.

Surprisingly, someone stumbled on the camera tripped and fell, all ran in reckless abandon due to the tension of fear, it was proof that she was alive. Everyone was summoned immediately and the clips taken during the day was recognized, but the scary part was that of an unrecognizable being caught on the camera, with humid smoke covering a greater part of it's face, it was a big mass, about twice the size of an average man. It was so outrageous as it stirred fear.
Immediately, a trail of her foot was picked and the dogs led the way as they could see the glimpse of a cabin at yonder, was she in this cabin? How did we get to this deadly scene! They all walked so easily and gently as they approached the deadly cabin. Once at the spot, they all braced up for the worst of it all. The door creaked and echoed as it was opened. The stench of dust and animal remains filled the air.
An empty room with blood paint on the walls, animal skull hanging and dangling from various corners in the room. Rotten parts of these animals rented the air as carved symbols were arranged in the fearsome room. One of the searchers located a red curtain, as it was opened there lay Nadeesha, she was woken up immediately, she was surprised at seeing the people. She was worried why the looked at her in such way. Was she dreaming? Was she hypnotised! I guess its one or the other. She didn't believe she was a photographer, it had left her after that last photo!
