RE: Addictions | Are you in control or are you under their control?
@anomadsoul, can anyone control an addiction? You can get a sense of control but I don't think it is real.
I pride myself that I never smoke without drinking alcohol but I never drink without smoking, so what is the control?
I feel that it is that sense, that feeling that I am in control of my addictions that is dangerous because it gives me the impression that I can walk away from it anytime but in reality, I just take long breaks and return stronger than ever.
I feel addictions need a complete stop, not an attempt, a control, or anything of that nature. A complete cleansing of the system, if it is possible.
Maybe get it in line? As far as I think, you can´t control it 100% but you can have limits.
Well, the control is that you don´t need a cigarette if you are not drinking, at least you don´t smoke all the time?
I do that with smoking, I quit every once in a while to "know" i can still handle it, there will come a time where i just won´t start anymore, i hope.
Yeah I hope so too. I am truly tired of it but once in a while the urge comes and we start all over again.
@warpedpoetic I hope it works out well in the end man.
