Where I live, some of the older folks tend to think cats in general are unlucky but not all that seriously. And personally I've felt that more people here do prefer the looks of lighter colored cats. I'm in Korea.
Thank you so much for your opinion! I believe that even people which doesn't actually believe in superstitions tend to prefer cats that aren't black.
It's sad. However it's interesting to observe how countries in different continents are so similar in matters like this.
Well, my vet once expressed a similar superstitious belief but in a really sweet and positive way. He told me he believed that black cats are more spiritual, and therefore much more sensitive to our feelings. :)
That's nice. It's interesting how superstition can also be a positive thing. The positive side of superstition is spiritual belief.
