These days usually they refer to Asperger's as "high functioning autism." Dr. Asperger was the first doctor in the 1940s to document autism and observe autistic children. I have this and a moderate form of Tourette Syndrome. I have these little uncontrollable spasms called "tics." You see me have LOTS of them in my video with Papa Pepper. I don't have coprolalia or "vocal tics," I just have a filthy FUCK-ing mouth! HA HA that is my one Tourette's joke I have LOL. Coprolalia is the worst level of Tourette's. Usually only about 5% to 10% of people with Tourette's have it this bad. I do have some vocal tics, but it is rare that I have them. Unless you interacted with me on a daily basis you would never know I had the disorder. When I do have vocal tics it is usually just sounds not actual cuss words that come out. Like I'll inhale really hard for no reason, or click my tongue. I do have one severe biting tic if it is really bad. I will bite my thumb, usually my left thumb for a second or two. I have callused teeth marks in my thumb from decades of biting myself uncontrollably for no reason.
wow Rainbow Man, this is some interesting stuff. you mean when you bite yourself you can't control it or you are biting yourself to control it?
I didn't notice any tics on that video.
thank goodness you don't have Coprolalia, that would be hard to be out in public.
It is kind of hard to explain really. Usually I catch myself and I stop. Other times I bite my lip real hard. Look at my face as I interact with Papa Pepper in the video. The weird faces I'm making trying to suppress tics. I'm always biting. Either my lip or sometimes the inner wall of my mouth. Look at my hands too. The fact that I can't sit still. I'm constantly moving my hands wiggling my fingers or clenching a fist every few seconds.
Not really. My anxiety is through the roof for the most part so I just avoid people. I rarely have a conversation long enough with people telling them about my disorder if they pick up on it or not.
I'm not a real big people person these days. It is too difficult trying to go out among the zombies. When I do go out I just observe everyone. I'm a sheeple watcher LOL. Even on days I'm at the library I tend to just keep to myself. For the most part people don't talk to me either. I might talk to the cashier at the coffee stand out front and that is usually just your normal greeting from ordering me a mocha. I do most of my social interaction here now on Steemit. So far this platform is filled the most enlightened most awakened souls yet and y'all are my kind of people :-). It just sucks more of you don't live in my area HA HA. Eventually I do plan on going to Tulsa to meet Toby and go out with Papa Pepper to catch snakes. But it will have to wait till after our son is born. I'm going to be tied up the next few months.
howdy again Rainbow Man! I understand about being tied up the next few months, is that all? with little ones it's more like the next 20years! Steemit is SO the perfect place for you!
