Fake Vegan, Fake Food
I have two audio books and I do not like the voices.
One book is the musical 'Jip and Janneke' the other is "Het Dovemansoren dieet" (Deaf man's ears diet) by Maarten 't Hart. Like said I don't like the one who is reading the book but I like Maarten. He is direct, straight forward and no nonsense text.
There's no point in calling a person slim if fat is the word. (I wonder if the book is translated and if so a different word choice is used.

The author talks about the role of food in his life, starting as a baby. His mother said he was always hungry no matter how much she gave him, and he agrees.
Next he describes his early childhood years and the menu his mom, who disliked cooking, "prepared". It's funny how much we have in common. With us it was the same, every Monday the same meal, Tuesdays, Wednesday (whiye baked beans or macaroni), Fridays (leftovers), Saturday soup (canned, no cooking) and Sunday 3 courses which I couldn't digest.
In the past decennial all types of diets were called the egg of Columbus. Most of it was nonsense like eating bread only recommended by Sonja Bakker (must have to do with her surname (Bakker = baker).
Maarten was always skinny and so was his entire family. No soda, lemonade, candies, cookies, butter, oil, lavish dining and... they hardly drank. By far not 1 liter and no one felt thirsty. It was one cup of tea at breakfast, one after school and one with the last meal. At that time a cup was about 125 ml! No big mugs. It was the same during my childhood. Like him I cannot remember I ever felt thirsty. We never drank anything with dinner. During my childhood I only drank schoolmilk at kindergarten, never at home.
He tells that the only period he gained weight was as he lived with his aunt as a student. He started to look like her and his fat cousin. Like he says: You will look like the one who feeds you.
His favourite food was grits porridge and brown beans, though not great cooked since his mother never used spices, herbs, syrup and during his entire childhood he never saw an onion. The food was cooked so long that that it changed colour and looked like snot.
The food of those days may not be called healthy today, but those of that generation are reaching old age.
The book explains that drinking is a source of calories rarely talked about when it comes to dieting and that fat cannot be washed away by drinking 2 litres of water a day. His advice to those who want to lose weight is to eat what his mother cooked, preferably food you don't like.
His slogan: You can eat anything as long as you can poop from it.
My favourite food? I can't say there's anything I would call my favourite meal today. I rarely eat and those few things I liked are no longer what they were. Even chocolate is no longer made of a certain percentage of cocoa.
An interesting example is this bag of Treets my daughter bought. It should be vegan...

The taste of food did change simply because chemicals are added and ingredients are replaced. In this bag is cocoa replaced by sunflower seed flour and grape kern flour!

It is very true, we are what we eat. I have always had a tendency to get fat. I cook with natural condiments that I grow and harvest myself but I still gain weight by eating my own food. I like to cook with seasoning and I like to eat. I also drink too much water throughout the day. And my colon and bladder respond very well to this whole process.
If you eat little, you don't get fat, if you drink little you don't urinate too much either. If you are healthy eating little it is very good.
It is not true that those who eat little won't gain weight. It all depends on how fast your body can get rid of it. If you poop three times a day, like all the men I know, there's no time to gain, weight.
If everything you eat taste 👎 you stop eating. It's what children do but we force them to eat with the result many can no longer stop if they had enough. Stress eating increases too but chemicals and medication are good for gaining weight as well. 🙃
I agree with you, the taste of the food has had some unpleasant additions, even in some crops some grafts are made, for example, I have seen some yellow tomatoes and as far as I know the tomato is red . We can eat everything, the important thing is NOT to exaggerate and try NOT to stay seated, at least walk to help the body
In this case I meant: we can eat everything (since we eat already paper, plastic and chemicals) even if it's for only once and we die from it (sarcasmbut a fact).
Nearly all "biological" food is DNA manipulated, seeds are K3 and in many countries only allowed and all the seed in the world is in hands of a veey small group. We, the people, smile about all the greatness we achieve (fruit withoud kerns/seeds for example)...we might wonder if no insect or worm wants it, if it is still biological.
Unfortunately, what you say is completely true. Those of us who work in marketing carry out projects to ensure that products are in demand, but we are aware that some products are NOT healthy at all. The good thing is that the product's high sugar, sodium, and other content is indicated on the label. There is also a nutritional table, but some people ignore this ,some don't even look at the expiration date. A big hug and rest, look who's talking hahaha

There's a lot of nonsense printed on food, mainly marketing to fool people. I wonder how many can read those small printed words and know the E numbers by head. They even lie about percentages palm fat and trans fat both fats damaging the body and causing cancer.
Nothing wrong with animal fat which is bio, besides fat is good to poop. 👇
I send you a big hug but keep Snorlax. 🤣
🍀♥️
I work in marketing, my job only goes as far as the project.

It looks cute, very tender
It mainly sleeps and I assume eat. There are very huge ones you can lay on but I am too poor to fill my room with one. Imagine you have to push it through the doorway 🤣
Reminded me of my childhood. I didn't know what is considered feeling hungry. Maybe because I was the odd one or maybe it's my mom's cooking. Not that she's not a good cook but she often cooked something that felt...vomit inducing for me. No wonder I was so skinny
I couldn't eat from the moment I was born, and I cried a lot. My mother shoved me into the bathroom in an attempt not to hear me, till I ended up in the hospital. I assume she can coo,k but so could I at a very young age. I still have "nightmares" about the food served. (Saturday bread with honey, that honey was like dried crust on the bread, it made me gag, same for milk and honey - yuck). Sundays were the worst. Soup was fine, but it was all too much. The dessert was the worst of all. Some pudding I couldn't swallow because of the tiny things/pieces in it.
Till today, I have issues with swallowing, bread is more like a piece of dough that makes me gag or choke. It seems I am not the only one.. Two of my children deal with the same issues.
The story of Suppenkasper (Soup Kasper) didn't help to make me eat either. LOL
Oh dear, so sorry to know that. Experience like that can affect one deeply even through adulthood.
Did you check with the doctor about the issue since your children are having the same thing too?
I gagged a lot with childhood bad food and force feeding but it didn't happen again until these couple of years. It's being treated as GERD but the issue persist, definitely something not right.
You know, our tube is so long and so many parts of them. Something malfunctioned.
You will need to have a glass of water near you whenever you eat.
Is Soup Kasper a story to make children eat their food? It's the first time I heard of this story.
It's always an eye opener discovering different cultural. Please share more of this in your stories.
Der Suppekasper.. It's German with if you ask me not too child friendly stories. There's also one that shows what happens if you play with fire. For sure today we would say it's barbarian, but the same counts for fairy tales. They never had that happy ending.
We simply limit the bread, one can live without.
I spent a big part of my life as a labrat and will never return to that life. It harmed me more than it helped me.
I was forced to emoty my plate. My grandmother gave the same plate back with every meal, even if it was spoiled. ☹️
A result of surviving the hunger winter or poverty 🤔
Any idea what triggerd it with you again or is it part of getting older?
It's strange how many problems one can have and live with.
🤗🍀♥️
What?! Spoiled food? That was very traumatizing in my opinion. And it's not helpful at all.
Hunger winter or poverty or war. I read some war horrors, cannibalism. 😓
Not sure what triggered. I've never had gastric problem. But I had this period of time that I was bulimic because of bullying. Doctor told me it could be one of the issues.
The European has the original fairy tales that all got toned down by Disney. Nowadays I look out for the grimmer ones. Just finished watching one Japanese retelling of the fairy tales.
Yeah, people nowadays are not as healthy. The other where I am writing, we talked about that a lot. Almost everyone has some kind of health issue.
I believe it's the food and all the medication, vaccinations included. It contains a lot that we shouldn't eat. Next to that, it turns out we breathe in a lot of plastic (enough in the brain to make a spoon out of it, can you imagine that?).
Bowel issues only increase, mainly harmed by wheat (rice is part of the family of grass). I also believe that raw food does harm the intestines. We aren't cows or sheep, and vegetables are the hardest to digest, not to mention palm fat and all the allergies occurring. It cannot be a coincidence, and also not because we are old and ate it too much, since more and more babies suffer from it.
Now my daughter turns out to have a fructose allergy (caused by eating too much food. She never eats food, only lately 1 apple per day). If you think about it, it's ridiculous.
I agree with you that everyone has health issues even if we consider ourselves healthy (so do I by the way, mainly because I gave up on doctors and medication).
How did your daughter survive on 1 apple daily? That must be so hard.
I heard about food allergies especially peanut and seafood but it's the first time I heard about fructose allergy. I must go and read on that after this.
Indeed, human body is degenerating with each passing generation, that's why the babies are born with issue.
I'm trying to avoid medication where I can because it can cause a lot of burden to our organ.
She didn't. The apple made her sick. For some reason, she kept finishing that bag of apples (I wouldn't if it made me sick). I know some months ago she felt miserable after eating tangerines, not the first days though but it started after 1 or 2 weeks. In average, she eats what people call "unhealthy". Some bread, cheese, or yoghurt, and she drinks water. Only a hot meal once in a while. Interesting is that candies and chocolate don't make her sick, but fruit does
The fructose allergy should heal itself if you stop eating fruit so no long-term damage (unless it already happened and that's the reason. The body is something I doubt we can 100% understand. More interesting is how the mind can influence the body and keep it healthy and functioning),
If it comes to allergies, it turns out that certain foods start if you eat it too much. In the Western world, it will be wheat, while in countries where rice is a common food, it will be rice.
Medications have a lot of side effects, more than people can imagine, and the biggest part isn't even mentioned. I once took malaria tablets I literally had all of them and nearly choked in my tongue because it was swollen from the meds. I will never take it again. The only thing the doctor did was shrug. He knew about my allergies but didn't care or give a second thought. Why should they? They get paid and even extra paid by the pharmaceutical industry.
I love it and the most and foremost slogan
That's awesome you!

LOL it's true.. you can only gain weight if you don't use or poop out what you ate.
