Future Perspectives

In the 80s the critics were louder than ever. Let's say "woke" or better waking up existed.
This song "Later is allang begonnen" (1984) reminds me of how we are brainwashed, forced to work and save for the future... And saving we will die. There's no future if we focus on the future. There should be set a time limit.
The future doesn't exist. Today is the future which we easily intend to forget.

Later?
Looking back I never made thoughts about the future. The main thing I did was surviving and making sure that my beloved ones had no shortage.
Was it worth the energy, the money, the work, the sacrifices?
Today I tend to say: no. I failed myself which is hard to deal with. There is no happiness in pleasing others if you sacrifice yourself and energy is mainly drained.

To those who read/translate the lyrics underneath..
The Zilvervloot was a saving account for children at the Rabobank and the promises they made never came true.
Today our pensions are wasted, the savings gone and we work till 70+. When exactly will the future start? At 90, at 100? If you do not live today you didn't only miss your past and present but your future as well.
