Vegetable Flowers Series Entry 1- "Ash Gourd/Winter Melon" Flower

A few days ago, I saw our ash gourd vine starting to bloom. So I waited till the sun came up and took a few pictures of flowers. Agriculturally speaking, Ash gourd is in the family of Cucurbitaceae. You can cook ash gourd in many different ways. You can even make candy out of them. Man, they are tasty. By the way, ash gourd vines produce separate male and female flowers. In the pictures, you can see a male flower. I will show you a female flower in an upcoming post when I get the chance.
