Rainy autumn evening. Part 2
Previously, to learn how to photograph, you had to know the device of a camera, the basics of exposure, composition, and how to develop film and print pictures. Now it's enough to pick up your smartphone and press the button.
Is this a good thing? On the one hand, yes, photography has become available to everyone.
On the other hand, this accessibility has led to a massive drop in the cultural level of the population.
The criteria for a good picture have disappeared amid the global tastelessness.
I touched on a similar topic six years ago about the architectural cultural code.
If something else is observed in larger cities, then in small towns and villages people sculpt whatever they want, as long as it is convenient.
Someone showed me a photo album with old photos and said, look how they used to shoot even for a family photo album!
Well, let's go into another area – look at the handwriting of old children and modern ones.
They used to teach Writing! And now the teachers themselves can't write beautifully.
...I've often said that real photography is the unconscious's response to reality.
But that never meant that you had to shoot mindlessly. The rules of academic photography should be laid down by default.
And before turning on the automatic brain mode, you need to work it all out forcibly for more than one year.
Not so long ago, there was a peak in the mass praise of low-quality photography.
Young photographers who picked up a film camera for the first time deliberately achieved inappropriate effects of smudging and highlighting, bought expired film, rejoiced at multiple artifacts and outright marriage.
A photograph on film is no different from a digital one: it must be of high quality, without glare, excessive grain...It should be like a postcard.
Is it difficult to make a high-quality postcard on film? When you can do this, you can pick up any camera and boldly declare that you are a worthy photographer!
I'm sorry, it hurt, it boiled over. I should have spoken out.
The post is not personal in nature and is aimed at stimulating an increase in the cultural level of the population.
Interesting content keep it up.
