Himchari Trip: A Slice of New Joy in Cox’s Bazar
Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.
When we think of Bangladesh’s most popular beach, Cox’s Bazar, the first things that come to mind are the endless blue waves, the roaring sea, and the vast stretch of golden sand. But the charm of this city doesn’t end with the sea — right beside it lies another magical place called Himchari, where hills, waterfalls, and the ocean meet in a stunning harmony of nature.
One afternoon, a few of us decided to set off for Himchari. The journey itself was an experience to remember. Riding on an open Chander Gari (a local jeep) along the Marine Drive Road, with the hills on one side and the endless sea on the other, felt like a dream. The open sky above, the cool breeze, and the rhythmic movement of the car made it seem as if we were on an adventurous journey into the heart of nature.
Before reaching Himchari, rows of small shops appeared on both sides of the road — selling hats, wooden showpieces, seashell jewelry, souvenirs, and colorful trinkets. It was almost impossible to pass by without stopping. I ended up buying quite a few things myself — colorful caps and hats, chocolates, pickles, and a few cosmetic items. The shops were filled with both local and foreign products, creating a vibrant and lively marketplace.
As soon as we entered Himchari, the air felt different — fresh and cool. The gentle breeze from the nearby waterfall carried a soothing sound, and the green hills stretched as far as the eye could see. Many visitors were dipping their feet in the cold water, some were taking photos, while others were climbing the small hills nearby. When the golden rays of the setting sun streamed through the trees, the whole place looked like a dreamland bathed in light and serenity.
The most heartwarming part was the hospitality of the local people. With bright smiles, the shopkeepers would say, “Bhai, your trip to Cox’s Bazar isn’t complete without visiting Himchari!” And they were absolutely right.
As the day drew to a close, the sky behind the hills began to change color — orange, purple, and soft pink hues melting into the horizon. The sound of the waterfall dripping and the waves crashing blended into a perfect natural melody. For a moment, time felt frozen.
Himchari isn’t just a tourist spot — it’s a feeling, an experience of peace and renewal. Here, nature speaks softly, the air smells of mountains and saltwater, and your heart feels light again. No trip to Cox’s Bazar is truly complete without visiting this magical place.
Even now, when I think back to that day, I feel that no matter how busy or chaotic life becomes, returning to nature can always bring calm to the heart. That golden evening in Himchari remains, to me, a slice of pure joy — a memory that still brings peace whenever I recall it.
Thanks all

An entire avenue lined with bazaars and shops.
Do they wear that many hats in your country? I saw many styles and shapes in the first photo.
I didn't see the beach in any of the photos, and the text that appears is basically based on the beach and the smell of the sea. ??
