Friends, welcome to this post, which I have shared some important information about the National Museum of Unity in Enugu. This museum is located in Enugu which is the heartbeat of the eastern part of Nigeria. I was fortunate to visit the National Museum some years ago when I was residing in Enugu.
Brief History
The National Museum of Unity in Enugu was established immediately after the Nigerian civil war ended in the year 1972 was when the museum was established.
It was founded by a group of people in the state, with the support of the federal government, which sponsored the establishment of the museum to create cultural unity. In terms of historical significance, it is the only museum in Nigeria that aligned with the "No Victor, No Vanquished", which is a symbol of peace and reconciliation.
Ownership and Management
In terms of ownership, like I previously said, it is operated by the government under the supervision of NCMM. As of last year, there was a partnership worth about ₦3 billion from a public-private partnership that was initiated to reconstruct the museum.
One of the most well-known staff members in the museum is curator Mr. Aloysius Duru, who is involved in developing and managing the museum. Otherwise, I can't tell much about that, but 95% of the staff are resident artists.
Exterior & Entrance
The architectural design of the museum reflects a modest functional modern style of building with a sturdy gate and open-air access for passing through and coming out of the museum.

As for the trance and tickets, as of the time I visited the place, it was free, but the use of phones or taking pictures isn't allowed during the tour visit, so visitors would have to bring their writing materials for noting important things.
Outdoor Areas
The compound of the museum includes a park that hosts small-scale shops and operators, who have been told to vacate the premises to a better place, as the government wants to build something in the outdoor areas.

As you can see from the images, the museum is well organised with galleries of unity of Igbo view, Nigerian beliefs, and the Coal City gallery, as the town is called Coal City. It is not everything that is well detailed out in the museum, as most of the things are for confidential purposes.
Exhibits & Displays

Unity Gallery: This has traditional objects like Waja figures, Yankari pottery, ikenga, Benin bronzes, and other Nigerian ethnicities. The Igbo Gallery is the gallery that displays pre colonial architecture of musical instruments, and masquerades of the Igbo.
Additional Notes
As for technology there is no mention of audio guides ot interactive screens because everything is analog and traditional. As for preservation/eco-friendly, there are no green initiatives in the museum, but there is strong community engagement.
