Greetings, CCS friends. I have a question: Have you encountered stink bugs? Those beetles that give off an unpleasant odor when you touch them or when they feel attacked. Well, today I'm bringing you some photos of several of these bug larvae. I hope you enjoy them.
I used Google Lens to locate the species names; I hope I did a good job.

Some Stink Bug Larvae
When bed bugs are in the larval stage, they go through several stages as they develop. During these stages, they are also called nymphs. Their appearance varies depending on the stage of development; they are generally smaller, more rounded, and their bodies have brightly colored patterns such as black, red, white, and green. They are wingless. As they grow, they take on the colors of an adult and develop wings.

A bug that, according to what I read, rather contributes to eradicating harmful insects, but in its larval stages and due to its high number, it feeds on plant sap and can also attack its fruits. See more |

This one is almost in its adult stage. I present it as evidence that many bugs feed on other insects and pests. It is in the larval stage that they become threats to plants and crops if their population is very large. Note: However, there are adult bugs that also consume the sap of plants and fruits. When you see the word zelus in the name, it refers to a genus of bugs that prey on other insects and are actually beneficial and help control pests. Here you can see one in its larval stage feeding on a fly it caught. See more |

This family can be easily identified by the white markings at the junction of the head and thorax. See more |

Photo N° 5: Green stink bug (Nezara viridula)

Although it is green as an adult, its shape and coloration change significantly during its larval stage, depending on the stage. This black stage would be the third stage of the process. The photo below shows an adult specimen. See more |

These photographs are my property, and were taken on various dates. Today I wanted to present a compilation of stink bugs in the larval phase.
See you soon
