Exploring Austrian Alps near Schruns – SteemAtlas Adventure
Carrying a 10 kg backpack with photographic equipment sometimes is a huge burden.
Now this is a thought I did NOT have while hiking in the beautiful Alps in Austria near the cozy small city of Schruns :)
Of course, I had to take more breaks and sips of water but the breathtaking views and my friends were definitely making all the steps easier to take!
The journey started with taking the Zamang Bahn Talstation cable car. (The link to the Google Maps is under my pictures)
It is a quiet and beautiful ride that takes about 15 minutes.
That's how much time it takes to get up to the clouds and feel as a bird...
Alps are so beautiful, I've been to the Swiss, Austrian and Italian parts of the Alps, everywhere it is beautiful in its specific way but it always takes my breath away despite the crystal clear air :)
I used my heavy back load as a pretext to have more short breaks and take more photos. Yes, being the last in the hiking line has its benefits ;)
There are plenty of small lakes in the area around, melting ice and snow throughout the whole year.
This really gives a strange vibe, especially going there in the late spring or the beginning of the summer when in the valley it is harder to breath due to the heats :)
Plenty of things to see up there.
For instance here one could pass through the longest ski tunnel in Europe.
Also, as you can see, plenty of sports activities too, apart from the obvious hiking in dipping into the divine beauty of this awesome mountain range, crossing through Western Europe...
A bit of a friendly advice - do not forget to prepare and have the necessary for a picnic, everything up there is much more delicious.
However, if you haven't brought any food with you, there is a cozy cafeteria at the cable car station that's up the mountain and the prices there were normal with some nice freshly baked pastries and aromatic hot beverages too. Beers for those who aren't driving as well...
Here is the URL to the cable car services, "Zamang Bahn Talstation", they appear temporarily closed as of now: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mrY6Ny1orPLWYP6Y6
Tickets are not cheap, a daily single trip ticket price starts at EUR 13 and gets up to EUR 40 for all the slopes and peaks in the region. Different prices for the winter season, logically.
