Exploring Bulgaria, as it joins EURO

in CCS8 hours ago

Yesterday, at exactly 13:33 local time, the last two formal and obligatory steps for Bulgaria to join the EURO has been executed.

So, now, it is official - EUR will replace our local currency (BGN) as of 1st of January 2026!

We are going to be the 21st country to adopt the united currency and our national bank will be minting coins and banknotes having texts and graphics in Bulgarian ;)

This big news has inspired me to create this article today and share with you some of my pictures from the capital city and around the country.

I know, the topic is controversial, and too many counter-European voices have been too vocal in the latest months but I am avoiding the topics of politics today, but I am sure everyone will agree this change is substantial and will drag along many other changes with it. Some will be not-so-good but the most will be good in the long run, is my understanding and believes at the moment. Yeah, I'll have to keep you posted...

One of the positive outcomes of the change is that, no doubt, Bulgaria will be attracting more travelers and investors.

Our country has it all - many mountains, sea, valleys, rivers, resorts, rich culture, traditions, arts, awesome cuisine and history dating back to Thracian ages.

So trust me on that. There is plenty to see and try!

Actually, there are so many sites and landmarks that one life is definitely not enough!

So here are some of the Bulgarian places I am sharing today :)

Hi,

The places you share in the photos are very attractive.

Today I saw on the news that Bulgaria's entry into the Euro was officially announced. I understand it will take effect in January 2026.

Changes always bring about opinions, both in favor and against. I hope you can find common ground that benefits your country.

:) and I really appreciate your time and wonderful support! :)

As a kid, I read a story about Bulgaria, basically about Gabrovo. Then some scenes from the Dilwale movie of SRK. Your country is very lovely.
