Aceh Traditional House, Almost Lost Historical Traces
Hello Steemian in CCS Community Everyone
How are you all today, I hope you are doing well wherever you are
Aceh Traditional House is a very famous and unique traditional house in the past. This house is one of the symbols of pride of the Acehnese people and is a very valuable cultural heritage. This building has existed long before the establishment of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
In this article, I want to share a story about this traditional house. Unfortunately, the existence of Aceh Traditional House is currently increasingly difficult to find around my place of residence. Many of them have been lost eroded by time.
A few days ago, I had the opportunity to visit a village quite far from the city center. There, I found one Aceh Traditional House that was still standing strong. According to the story of the owner of the house, this building was built around 1934.
As a photography enthusiast, I did not miss the opportunity to immortalize this house through my camera lens. I feel it is important to document the beauty and historical value of this house, because one day this house may collapse and be lost to time. I hope these photos can be historical evidence for future generations.
Here are some photos that I managed to take. If there is any incorrect information in this article, I apologize. I am not a historian, so the information I write is based on local people's stories.
Hopefully this writing and photos can be the beginning of information about Rumoh Adat Aceh for those who want to know more. Thank you.

I really like these types of posts about a country's culture and anthropology. The way people lived several years ago caught my attention.
The photos are magnificent. I feel like some of them needed an explanatory note to help the reader understand what they were seeing (at least what you think it was).
I see that they worked with wood and ironwork very well and artistically. Thank you for sharing your nation's ancestral culture with us. 🙏🙏
I have some doubts. Were all old houses supported by wooden columns? Is there a reason for this?
What do you think this is? Is it a mortar used in cooking or the base of a column?
