When you enter the station, you will see a ticket counter on your left. Earlier, there was another ticket counter on your right, but it is not active now, so people now collect tickets at this ticket counter. Also, since there is an opportunity to buy tickets online, very few people are seen collecting tickets from the counter. A few years ago, I also collected tickets from the counter here, but now I buy tickets online from home. There is a list of train schedules and fares above the ticket counter. The fare is mentioned in this list, which you can see about the fare.

The entrance gate here is always slightly open so that passengers can enter the serial list station. After entering the station, on the left hand side, there are offices of the government officials on duty. First, there is the station coordinator and the station master's room. When I visited this station, it was night and the two in charge were in the room. If you come to the station and face any irregularities, complaints or problems, you inform the station master and he solves them. The main job of the station master is to ensure the security and smooth operation of the railway station. He also does the work of signal control, track direction change (switching), train operation and maintaining the schedule.

This platform is quite big and various development works are done on the platform constantly. As per the train schedule the platform is very crowded but when the train departs there is no crowd here. This station has two platforms. There are two foot over bridges that allow passengers to cross from one side to the other. The people of the station can be seen very well from the foot overbridge as the Dinajpur railway station in Bangladesh is very clean and less noisy. A very nice view of the platform can be seen from the foot overbridge. The platform has sheds to protect it from sun and rain. I am impressed by the recent installation of a branch for passengers to sit on. Also some new fans have been installed here under which the passengers are very comfortable in the heat.
There are mainly three types of trains operating at Dinajpur Railway

This station not only transports passengers but also transports goods. Many other goods including agricultural products are supplied to Bangladesh in freight trains. First the products are well packaged and stored in a certain place at the station for a short period of time. Freight trains have a specific color which is yellow. Freight trains do not depart daily but twice a week. Also for transportation of goods there is a trolley with the help of which the goods are transported from one place on the platform to another place.

I have mentioned earlier that this station was established during the British period and is about 140 years old. So some of the buildings that were established earlier are almost demolished and the station colony next to the station where various officials and employees live is very old and made of red bricks. I have taken a picture of the station colony to share this with you. Also, there were some railway tracks earlier which are now useless. Some train compartments are in disrepair.
