How are you all? I hope that by the grace of Almighty Allah, you are all well. Alhamdulillah, I am also very well. Today I have come to you to introduce the Hogla Jotpara Eidgah graveyard. So let's start,,
After the death of Muslims, the dead body is washed with plum leaves and hot water for the last time, placed in front of the people of the area, the funeral prayer is performed, people are asked for forgiveness on his behalf and the last step is buried. So, every village has a graveyard.
Our also has a graveyard which is used as the central graveyard of our Hogla village and the neighboring Jotpara village. Before burying any body in our central graveyard, according to the rules, the body is placed in front of the pulpit located in the middle of the Eidgah ground and the funeral prayer is performed.

In addition to the funeral prayer, the Eidgah ground is also used for offering Eid prayers. There are eight rows (rows made according to a specific gap for praying) in our central Eidgah ground for praying. People stand in these rows in front of the pulpit and participate in the funeral prayers during the burial of the body and in the Eid prayers during Eid.

There are a total of four gates in our Eidgah Maidan and graveyard. Out of these, 2 gates are for entering the Eidgah Maidan and the remaining 2 gates are for entering the graveyard. The gates for entering the Eidgah Maidan are mostly open so that the people of the area can dry their rice or other things. And, the gates of the graveyard are closed so that dogs or foxes cannot easily enter.

During the monsoon season, it starts raining in the middle of the burial. As a result, there is a possibility of the body getting wet in the rainwater. So, in the past, polythene or other things were used to prevent it from getting wet in the rainwater, but they were not very convenient, so later a large ghar-like structure was built in the middle of the graveyard. During the rain, the body's cot (a special cot used to carry the body) is kept in this cot, so there is no possibility of getting wet in the rainwater.

A very high wall has been built around the entire cemetery to define the boundaries of the cemetery. This wall is made of solid bricks. In addition to defining the boundaries of the cemetery, these walls have been made very strong and high to prevent dogs and foxes from entering the cemetery.

Greetings, friend.
An interesting post because it's "atypical." But it connects us with the anthropology of the treatment of the deceased in your country's culture. I can understand that these are funeral rites that last several days. How many days exactly does a person's funeral take?
Thank you for the post; it has allowed me to learn a little about Muslim culture.
It usually takes only 2-3 hours. However, if the deceased's close relatives come from a distant place to view the body, the time is extended.
Thank you for posting this on Steem Atlas.
