How I Spent My Day

in #ccs8 days ago

Hi guys,
It is another great day of the week, and I'm delighted to share with you all how I spent my day. It was a Thursday morning, and I went to school because I was working on a project that needed my attention in the lab.

I arrived at the school around 10:00 a.m., and then I got a seat and started working on my project. I was supposed to join them to work on a collaborative project, but my duty was to write the conclusion and also put the work in IEEE format before it could be sent for review.

We couldn't do that because the other parts of the work weren't ready at the time, so I focused on my work because I already had a lot of work on my hands. While trying to do my work, I got an email that the paper we submitted for a conference in India has been approved.

I was so delighted, even though mine was approved with some major corrections. So I went to the website where I submitted the paper and then clicked on the review part, and then I saw all the comments made by the 3 different reviewers.

The first pointed out a lot of errors in my work and also graded it as average, and in his remark, he rejected the work; then, two other reviewers also gave their remarks as acceptable, which made the paper acceptable. They also dropped a lot of comments, which I also have to work on to improve the standard of the work.

I started working on the corrections immediately because I have to resubmit it before the 20th of August, which is in a few days from now. While exploring the corrections, I began learning more about the research and how to properly interpret the results.

I came back home that evening after a stressful day, and I decided to microwave the little food I had. I also took my bath, and after eating, I decided to rest my head because it was indeed a long day for me.

I woke up much later in the night and continued researching and making the necessary corrections pointed out. I also had some hours set aside for my online master's class, which I have promised to dedicate 2 hours daily for the next 4 weeks. That was exactly how I spent my day, guys. See you all in my next publication.

Hey @simonnwigwe, thanks for sharing a glimpse into your day! It's really inspiring to see your dedication to research and academics. The blend of excitement and challenge you described after receiving feedback on your paper is something many researchers can relate to.

That's fantastic news about your paper being accepted for the conference in India! Don't be discouraged by the reviewer's comments. Instead, look at it as an opportunity to grow. Putting in the work to address those corrections before the deadline shows real commitment. Balancing research, online classes, and everyday life definitely sounds like a packed schedule!

Keep pushing forward, and thanks for sharing your journey with us! I am looking forward to your next publication!
