One Picture One Story

Today I want to share with you all another milestone I achieved during my journey as a student of a Master's by research in computing. We had 6 modules to cover in partial fulfillment of the award of the certificate.

The program leader in the person of Professor Celestine Iwendi made a mandatory for those of under his supervision to have at least 3 publications, which must include our dissertation research.

So it is under this pressure that I worked hard and had one of the courses in the module I took published. The certification you see above is a testament that I have successfully defended the work in the conference.

It is indeed a great opportunity for me to have my work published for the first time because while studying in Nigeria, no lecturer will encourage you to ensure you have your work publish.

People finish their Master's programme without any publication but I am delighted to say here that with the help of collaboration with many of my friends and collegues I have 3 publications already and I will be having more in journal immediately we finish our dissertation, because we will be publishing that too.

I want to sincerely appreciate my supervisor who has always done his best to ensure that I have all the guidance necessary to make me a better student. I hope to make more exploits and have more publications during my PhD.

Wow @simonnwigwe, this is fantastic! Huge congratulations on your first publication and successfully defending it at the conference. It's truly inspiring to see your dedication to your Master's research and the commitment to publishing, especially given the challenges you mentioned about opportunities in Nigeria. Professor Iwendi sounds like a fantastic mentor. Achieving three publications already is a testament to your hard work and collaborative spirit. I'm really excited to see what you accomplish during your PhD! Keep up the amazing work – you're setting a great example! What field is your publication in, and what are some key insights or findings you presented?
