English news:

Hong Kong protests: How tensions have spread to US

"Another said Hui grew up enjoying electricity and fresh water supplied by the mainland, "but now you claim you are Hongkonger, not Chinese?""

--- Yeah, the PRC so benevolently provides water & electricity. It's not as if Hong Kongers would have to pay for utilities. Or do they?

China needs nearly $440 billion to clean up rural environment: report

"The funds would be required to meet state targets to build clean rural toilets, treat household waste, and construct village sewage treatment plants"

--- Just pump enough money into the system & all problems will be solved. It's not as if educating people would help in any way.

FedEx confirms Huawei mail ban as new 'mistake' reignites Chinese ire

"The firm on Sunday said it returned a package - identified as containing a Huawei phone - due to an “operational error,”"

--- Any delivery failures of Chinese products are insults to the Chinese people & have to be punished severely. After all, it's not as if Chinese delivery services would ever mishandle foreign products. All deliveries in China are 100% correct.

Beijing says it won't allow Hong Kong to be brought up at G20

""Hong Kong affairs are Chinese domestic affairs, any foreign force has no right to interfere in this.""

--- & China has absolutely every right to prohibit others from talking about issues it dislikes. & it's not as if in the case of Hong Kong there is a signed agreement which the PRC would have to adhere to.

China's influencer incubator

"Working with large companies reassures advertisers and social networks that influencers have been vetted and will act responsibly"

--- Which in China also means that they never ever say anything critical about China or the CCP. & if that's supposed to be a model for things to come in the West, then good night.

Carrefour sale shifts the balance of power in China’s new retail battle

"It is likely too early to know what impact the Carrefour deal will have, but it sure seems significant that the operations will cross a hard line and switch between China’s internet tribes."

--- Have no idea whether that deal will really have any substantial effect on the competition between Alibaba & Tencent, but it's definitely not good news for the supermarket scene. Whenever a foreign-owned supermarket chain was taken over by Chinese competitors, the quality quickly degraded (eg. Tesco). Carrefour was IMO the second best supermarket in China, only behind RT-Mart (Taiwan-owned).

Chinese contractors held as toll in Cambodia building collapse rises to 24

"There has been mounting concern in Cambodia about the standard of Chinese construction companies operating in the country."

--- Well, if you invite Chinese companies in to construct buildings, you have to expect Chinese construction quality.

Deutsche Nachrichten:

V.a. auch, weil:

Huawei will geliebt werden
