RE: Chinese dissident, Nobel laureate Liu XiaoBo now in 'critical condition'
Died 13 of July
Was he a real freedom fighter or just a western shill to push political globalisation?Nobel peace price also went to "Barack O'Bomber". Any thoughts?
Do you know anything about China?
He was not a shill.
And I know he died. I posted about that, too. Try to keep up.
I dont know much about China, that is why i am asking.
Sorry, your question came off as somewhat of an accusation and not a query.
Liu was lobbying for wider civil rights in China since the Tian'anmen Square protests of 1989. Charter 08 was the most recent effort and ultimately what got him in trouble with the government.
While he deserved the prize, I am also sure the committee chose him as a way to bring attention to China's horrible human rights record.
