DAVID AND GOLIATH – A STORY OF FAITH OVER FEAR

David and Goliath – A Story of Faith Over Fear

A long time ago, in the land of Israel, a great war was about to begin.

The enemies of Israel, the Philistines, had a secret weapon — a giant named Goliath.

Goliath was over nine feet tall. He wore heavy armor and carried a huge spear.

Every day for forty days, Goliath came out and shouted,

“Send me one man to fight me! If he wins, we will be your servants. But if I win, you will serve us.”

The soldiers of Israel were terrified. No one dared to face him.

But then came David — a young shepherd boy.

David was not a soldier. He came only to bring food to his brothers at the battlefield.

When he heard Goliath insulting the army of God, he was shocked.

David said, “Who is this giant who dares to mock the living God?”

While everyone was afraid, David stepped forward. “I will fight him,” he said.

King Saul said, “You are just a boy!”

But David replied, “The Lord who rescued me from the lion and the bear will rescue me from this giant too.”

David refused to wear armor. He took only his sling and picked five smooth stones from a stream.

As David approached, Goliath laughed.

“Am I a dog that you come at me with a stick?”

But David said, “You come to me with a sword and spear. But I come to you in the name of the Lord Almighty!”

David put a stone in his sling. He swung it around and let it fly.

The stone struck Goliath right in the forehead.

The giant fell to the ground — defeated.

That day, a boy with no sword became a hero.

David showed the world that faith is greater than fear, and with God, anyone can overcome even the greatest of giants.
