The reactions I am seeing from so many people after school Satan club at Maine Endwell are frankly nothing short of pathetic.

I’ve seen a bunch of people in the conservative, Christian and liberty communities locally who seem to think that they are being very intelligent and strategic in response to this. The basic argument goes ”They WANT you to protest them so the Christian clubs in your school are forcibly shut down! Don’t protest them, just ignore them!”.

Unbelievable. After everything we have suffered in the last three years, I honestly can’t fathom that there are people in who STILL believe that ignoring evil and failing to confront it is the proper solution.

Here are three obvious problems with this strategy which should be clear to anyone paying attention:

1. We tried your strategy for the last three years. We tried your strategy for the last 15 years. WAKE THE HELL UP, we’ve tried your strategy for the last FIFTY YEARS and it’s NEVER worked! “Don’t confront evil when it confronts you in the public square” isn’t you being strategic. It’s you either being a coward or falling for arguments made by cowards as if they’re legitimate expressions of strategy. If you are sincerely in the camp who thinks this is some kind of strategy, just ask yourself if you’ve ever seen evil just go away on its own. If you’re being honest with yourself, you’ll see that the very idea of it is insane. If you want to stop evil, you MUST confront it!

2. You are acquiescing to the idea that your community isn’t actually yours, that the members of the community have no means of control over what happens within it, and that if the state directs something you must simply take it like a slave. “THEY’LL SHUT DOWN THE GOOD NEWS CLUB IF WE REACT”. My God, how pathetic are you? If we are willing to accept that the state can prevent our children from worshipping freely in schools that we pay for, Satan has already won. If the Maine Endwell School District does that, the community should rally to replace the school board with people who won’t enable Satan. If the community won’t or can’t do that, then guess who the problem is? The community.

3. When your enemy is willing to confront you, but you aren’t even willing to defend yourself against your enemy, you will lose. The Devil confronts us every day in our schools, our governments, our families, our communities as a whole, and we usually respond by avoiding confrontation. Then we wonder why sincere Christianity is dying in America. Your kids are watching, and they see what a coward you are. STOP IT! You are destroying their futures by teaching them that their souls aren’t of the value that their worldly possessions and reputations are worth. Standing up for God and righteousness is the ONLY thing they should be concerned with!

We’ve become an emasculated bunch of feminized wimps. The Devil walks into our homes, has his way with our wives, comes downstairs while we are watching TV, cracks a beer and asks us “where’s the remote”. Then we GIVE IT TO HIM! Because we are cowards. Because we care more about earthly consequences than we do truth.

It reminds me of the book of Nehemiah, where Nehemiah was discouraged by Sanballat and Tobiah from rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem in the aftermath of the merchants violating them on the Sabbath. Whenever you attempt to rebuild the walls around your community, Sanballat and Tobiah will show up. They are evil creatures, sent by Satan himself, to destroy God’s kingdom.

You not only have the duty to reject Sanballat and Tobiah, you have a duty to not BE Sanballat and Tobiah. I’m seeing a lot of Sanballat and Tobiah’s out there right now, begging others to not protest these evil people. STOP IT! You are aiding and abetting evil. Your arguments are meritless at best and depraved at worst. Fortunately, many of us stand ready to reject them. In 13 days, we will begin that pushback!
