The importance of this project:

The Colombo Port City Project is Sri Lanka's largest FDI project to date, with an initial investment of $1.4 billion.

The city, named by Forbes magazine as one of the "five new cities affecting the future", will become a new central business district in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In the future, about 250,000 people will live and work in this area, directly providing employment for nearly 100,000 people in Sri Lanka.
