The femalewho stood on the roof of a Tesla to safeguard her rights lost the second trial and was sentenced to pay ¥170,000 in compensation. This incident caused Tesla to lose 170 million in orders
July 11th - According to Oriental Finance, more than four years have passed since the Tesla roof protest incident in 2021, and related events have finally seen new developments.
Today, the Shanghai Qingpu District People's Court issued its second-instance judgment, upholding the original verdict in both cases: Ms. Zhang from Henan province, who stood on a Tesla's roof during the Shanghai Auto Show, was found to have infringed upon Tesla's reputation rights. She is required to issue a formal apology to Tesla and pay 170,000 yuan in compensation. Separately, media professional Feng, who organized and planned the Tesla Shanghai Auto Show incident, must apologize to Tesla and pay 250,000 yuan in compensation.
According to an assessment report issued by a judicial evaluation agency, the 'Shanghai Auto Show Incident' caused Tesla to suffer over 170 million yuan in direct order losses and tens of millions of yuan in reputational damage.
Following this incident, several other accidents occurred where car owners claimed 'brake failure.' However, final appraisals by judicial authentication agencies concluded that the causes of these accidents were unrelated to Tesla vehicles themselves.
In the second-instance judgment, the court also confirmed that media professional Feng played an organizational and planning role in the April 19, 2021 'Shanghai Auto Show Incident.'
Additionally, due to Feng's long-term attacks on Tesla and disparagement of its reputation on Weibo, the court ordered him to apologize to Tesla both on his Weibo account and in the Legal Daily newspaper, and to pay 250,000 yuan in compensation.
