The take away is that people DO bring better coins to the banks for paper money... completely oblivious to the silver value of old JFK Halve's for example. Also.. there is a lot of old paper money still out there.. Red Seal $2 bills are out there... Blue Seal $1's and 5's... you just gotta ask the bank teller and hope to establish a rapport with one. Try all kinds of banks.. they usually want to get rid of odd stuff.
