Local delicacies: Boil plantains with vegetables sauce

It's another great time of the day to bring my local delicacies to your screen. I'm glad with no reservations to thank you all for liking to hear me out.

I delightfully woke up this morning to see the brightness of the day, early enough. I was craving for unripe plantain with vegetables sauce. I decided to prepare my daughter's lunch first, thereafter,I prepare my own.

Plantain is one of my favourite meals, I enjoys it irrespective of how it is prepared; be it porridge, fried, roasted, combined with beans or perhaps using it any sort of sauce. It remains my favourite.

I want to share with you how I use a very few steps in preparing plantain with vegetables sauce.

Ingredients


Unripe plantain, Onion, Pumpkin leaves, Palm oil, Pepper, Crayfish, Egg ,Salt and Seasoning cube... are the ingredients.

Come let us prepare this meal together


I wash my plantain thoroughly, peeled out the thin membrane, cut them into minimal sizes into a well clean pot with egg and set on a cooker.

In a very low medium heat, I set the frying pan on a cooker, it started warming slowly with a gentle stirring. In a clean Pan, I added oil in a pan, add onion and salt. I allow it to steam.

I added crayfish and pepper,I stir it properly and allow it to steam for few minutes.

The last thing was adding of seasoning cubes and Vegetables leave. I stir everything together. Just within 2 minutes my vegetable sauce is done.

The appearance look tantalising especially because of the red oil. I brought it down from cooker and dished a portion for my self .This delicacies is very yummy and delicious though very local.😋😋

Unripe plantain help in maintaining our red blood cells due to high iron content. It is advisable and highly recommended for people who are surviving anaemia.

Unripe plantain has flavonoids and antioxidants which helps in the fast reduction of body inflammation.

All pre-diabetic patients are advise for regular consumption of unripe plantain because it is low in sugar and also contains fiber which slow down glucose absorption.

Talking about taking fresh vegetables, they are very nourish able to our body. It provides antibiotics that helps in boosting our immunity, they are all rich in vitamins like A, C and k. Vegetables is high in calcium, folate and potassium.
