I'm not afraid of software ... to me, software was created to be probed and made to scream.
I've also been known to make a few software developers scream. Things like, "It's working as designed!!" I've always viewed design as negotiable too :-P (I've tested software and web design)
But also, I've played with programs that generate art through mathematics. With those, I didn't have deep control of the math, like in fractals.
And it helps that I already understand things like layering, colors, and moving the camera and the canvas. And I'm use to seeing digital art as multi-dimensional (3d)
Still, fractals are a world unto themselves. And I love it!
