This is fascinating. I think so many children's books have a history and motivation behind them. As a South African I would never get it, without your explanation. Growing up I loved Charles Dickens but then he also exposed the horrors of the English day (orphan slavery etc)

    There are all sorts of dark messages in children's books! It's crazy! Glad I could enlighten and entertain.

      Not only books. Movies are just as bad I believe. And we can't be sure how that subliminal advertising affects the impressionable young mind
