RE: If You Feel Strongly STEEM Needs Something, You're Probably The One To Do It

in #community6 years ago

Good post @glenalbrethsen! Just think where we would be if everyone on STEEM took it upon themselves to recruit and onboard just 1 person. I'm like you, I can't understand why STEEM with its volume and number of users can't seem to get any traction. By the way, I really like the Brave browser. Almost all the ads it sends me to view have been something I was actually interested in seeing. And I've earned about $5 worth of BAT in a few weeks. That beats my high quality STEEM post earnings, lol.

How do you get Brave to send you ads @blueeyes8960? I signed up recently to try and earn some that way but I don't get shown any ads. Do you need to use it for a while or is there a setting I missed somewhere? 😊

You have to have the Beta version. And there is a place where you "turn on" ads.

Hey, @blueeyes8960.

So, you've been getting ads to click for a few weeks now? Is this on your computer or a phone? I'm on a Macbook, and I just went to the rewards page and it says ads are coming soon. Obviously, they must be available for some version of Brave.

There's something definitely going against STEEM or not really for it, whichever way that might be. Somehow, whatever that is needs to change.

Yes, the ads are active on Windows 10 in the Brave browser.

And yes, something is going on with STEEM, it's down to .38 now!

Wow. Okay. Do you happen to have the BETA version? I guess that can make a difference to, beyond what OS you might have. Very interesting.

And yeah, something is going on, although, it's also happening to ethereum, litecoin and EOS to varying degrees, while Bitcoin is slightly up and BAT is on the rise again. :)

Yes, it's the BETA. Did you do the coinbase earn to get the free $10 of BAT?

Yes, I did. That's the only reason I had BAT in Coinbase. It'll be nice when they finally make it possible to move the BAT from the wallet Brave uses to another wallet, or vice versa. Makes it so I have BAT in two different places, and I'm not sure if I like that.

Duh, that was in the original post, sorry. I forgot what I had read by the time we were doing these replies. You mean we can't move BAT in and out of the wallet on Brave? I guess I hadn't tried that yet but I was thinking about moving it to coinbase when I got May's payout.

No worries. I'm always wondering if I'm not repeating myself too. :) I'm sure I do.

Unless the beta version is different, the one time I went to check how, it wasn't available yet. I think I found it on a forum page somewhere, or it might have been in the FAQ. At any rate, you'll certainly want to double check. I'd love to move mine. :)

@glenalbrethsen - for now the wallet in the Brave browser can only receive funds (and you can deposit BTC, LTC & ETH) and use those funds to tip publishers. As of right now you can't withdraw from it. But in the future you will be able to fully control it AFTER YOU KYC.

Okay. That sounds like what I read. I'd forgotten the part about using some crypto to buy BAT with, since I was thinking in terms of fiat, or actually converting BAT into STEEM. :)
