RE: Curation Won't Grow STEEM Like Commerce Will
I just read some comments on the latest whatsup post that PALnet is already 50/50 creator/curator and I believe there's a different curve. At any rate, if that's true, then I don't need to be messing around there.
oh, you think that is not fair to the content creators? I agree. that sounds nuts but then I don't know how it all works.
Well, it works the same way as it does now, but instead of you receiving 75% of whatever the rewards end up being, you get 50%.
As long as STEEM prices are low, it won't be as noticeable as it will be when STEEM prices go up. Because instead of a SP/SBD ration of 2 to three times, we'll back to SP fractions again.
The only reason anyone should get any type of curation reward is to encourage them to curate. But now there are folks that want to make money off of curation, when really, the time and talent to do it compared to what good creators are doing—there's just no comparing.
So, no, I don't think it's fair. I don't think it's going to solve anything but maybe help the larger accounts feel like they're getting some of the ROI back that they've been losing by essentially doing very little with their stake, and it will only get worse if creators go some place else or decrease the amount of posts they do.
Of course, those who remain and keep posting might see an uptick because more people weeded themselves out of the competition for eyes. However, a lot of big SP autovotes, and a lot of that is curation trails, so with their 0.1% to 2% upvotes, no one is likely to see much of an increase in rewards.
Yes sir I agree. I've read alot of comments of people very upset about this new hardfork.
